Considering the total growing area, sour cherry "Marasca" achives exquisite quality of fruits only in the limited parts of Mediteranean Croatia. "Marasca" is predominantly grow from Zadar to Makarska including the island, especially Brač and Hvar. Based on previous researc h "marasca" grown on the island of Brač and in the near area of Brela has a distinctive quality. It is also grown in the Dalmatian tramontane region, especially around Sinj, Drniš and Benkovac. In these growing areas "Marasca" achieves excellent fruit quality (high dry matter, unique chemical and organoleptic characteristic), and high and regulary yield. |
